My Dr will only prescribe meted Tylenol 3 without the caffeine at a maximum dose of 2 pills 3 times per day to cut me back to max 4 pills per day. I have used this level of opioid for 40 years. I have FM, CFS, Migraine, Aquired Long QT syndrome and sinus Tachycardia. I have been in brutal FM pain, Pelvic for 72 hrs. I have lost all my top teeth from medications and just had my lower rear ones removed at the first of December. I don’t know if I can even suggest this but I am ready to try to… read more

Members connected deeply over the devastating impact of opioid prescribing restrictions on chronic pain management, sharing experiences of having medications drastically reduced or denied despite decades of stable use, leaving many unable to function, work, or sleep through severe fibromyalgia pain. Several members described practical strategies they've tried, including switching doctors outside their current medical group, exploring medical marijuana creams and supplements like Curamed, submitting to required drug testing to maintain prescriptions, and seeking pain management specialists, though many expressed frustration that these alternatives provide minimal relief compared to previously effective opioid regimens. A recurring theme was the profound sense of injustice and abandonment, with members emphasizing that chronic pain patients are being unfairly punished for an addiction crisis they didn't create, calling for collective advocacy by writing to policymakers and demanding that lawmakers recognize untreated severe pain as a form of medical neglect.

The growing opioid hypocrisy is going to get worse..and those of us who require them to have any quality of life will be left by the wayside. Mine has been cut back. It barely gets me through, and on really bad days, it's like I have taken nothing. Chronic pain sufferers will continue to do just that. Suffer.

Curamed works almost as well as Percocet? How many mg are you taking? It is awful what the gov't is doing to people in real pain!

The Michael JAcksons of the world haven’t helped us and they can still buy pain relief. This is where so much of the war on opioids has come from. So we all turn to pot and then they start having deaths from that because people...my age...are uncomfortable discussing it with their Drs. Then using it uncovers a hidden issue and chronic pain sufferers start using health care dollars for treatment of these secondary issues. Chronic pain is type syndrome so who knows what else we suffer from? My pharmacist is on board and helping me to try medical marijuana but as I have heart issues there is only one aspect of the drug I can use. Going to try it though. I also have to question how long before we see an increase in suicide and failed suicides from the war on opioids. I am sure we have all wondered at one time or another why we put up with pain when it takes away our ability to enjoy the things most important in our lives. My Drs answer is she doesn’t want to see me become an addict! So she wants to see me in pain? We all need to do one thing and that is to write your policy makers call you local representative our Drs don’t care maybe if we make enough noise our policy makers will have to care. Remember to ask if they are willing to dump a wheelchair bound person out of their chair for 18 hrs a day? That’s what is happening to us. I know focusing on the pain is not something any of us want to do. I know we hide our pain but no one is going to advocate for us. It’s time for another minority to demand fair and equal treatment under the law. No Dr. Or hospital is allowed to deny reasonable treatment and do no harm is still part of the oath every Dr takes. We need to educate them.

Oh yes. Before I moved back home to take care of Mom, I had a private doctor who prescribed Percocet so I could sleep without pain at night. It was all I needed and with our state laws had to submit to pee tests and such so my doctor wouldn't loose his license. Now my only option is a public clinic that depends on federal funds so I can't get any opioid at all. But I found a rather pricey supplement that works almost as well. ( Curamed)

Here in the US, CAlifornia all is tightening up as you say. And no one can fully understand unless they have FM, not even a good husband who is tired of my basket of ailments he calls them. I hope you can find some relief, I tried Lyrica and discovered it really makes one consider suicide. Tramadol is my go to, not an opiod as yet. The pain invades sleep, every waking minute, it is slowly overpowering the tramadol. My teeth ache constantly, I know I should be grateful but I cannot remember a day without pain. I pray for you to get the drugs you need.
