Members shared diverse experiences about whether coffee and caffeine affect their inflammation and pain levels, with responses ranging from no noticeable impact to clear increases in pain, dizziness, and sleep problems when consuming caffeine. Several members described switching to decaf, green tea, or coffee alternatives like Teeccino, while others found that eliminating gluten and dairy made a more significant difference in reducing inflammation than cutting caffeine ever did. A recurring theme was the importance of balance and self-compassion, with many members expressing that they deserve small pleasures in life despite their conditions, and that individual experimentation is key since fibromyalgia and inflammation affect everyone differently.

I also take supplements, circumin & others. Mainly taking supplements now That help the inflammation of the eyes.
What do u take?
I eat a largely anti inflammatory diet & am contuiing to experiment.
It does seem like dairy is starting to be a culprit & gluten.
Hard to be disciplined.

I have been drinking occasional decaf and green tea for many years, with only slight improvement,, but when I quit gluten, not only did the inflammation go down, but I was able to lose weight. It is 6 months now, and I seem to keep improving. I was already dairy-free.

I have gone to all water pretty much I might have a cup of peppermint or some type of decaffeinated tea and I use almond milk for a natural smoothie. I found myself crying today I have given up so much lately to keep this disease at bay and like all people feel that I have heard from its so frustrating sometimes when you eat right and exercise and kill myself to try and feel better and I get sick and the whole week turns into the chainsaw massacre in my body ! God, I just needed to vent thank you. Tomorrow is my doctor appt and they won't like me but that's ok I don't advocate for them I advocate for all of us !!

One thing I can tell you from the Nutritional program I am on is that you want to drink organic coffee that has not had its coffee beans sprayed with chemicals. In addition, you want a coffee that’s low in acidity. Disease thrives in high acidic environments. I do not like the caffeine, I only drink it for the taste. So I found an alternative called Teeccino. You can find it online or in most Whole Foods stores. You can buy it in a grounded form or in a teabag form. There are different flavors to choose from. If you want coffee for the caffeine, I would search the web for something organic and low in acidity.

Like I said, I rarely get fatigued except if I’m going for days, like last weekend we went to Univ of Pitt to see our daughter for days. It was one activity after another. During these times, I bring my all natural (made with no artificial colors, flavors or sweetners since I’m hypoglycemic) small bottles of energy drinks that are only 35 calories and boosts my energy without the jitters.
