Members rallied around someone seeking dietary guidance during a severe fibromyalgia flare, with the strongest consensus being to eliminate or reduce sugar, gluten, processed foods, and caffeine, while focusing on anti-inflammatory whole foods like vegetables, fruits, and protein. Several members shared personal experiences with specific triggers, including nightshade vegetables, dairy, artificial sweeteners, and MSG, emphasizing the importance of reading labels carefully and paying attention to how individual foods affect pain, brain fog, and energy levels. A recurring theme was that dietary changes require patience and self-compassion, as improvements happen slowly and what works varies greatly from person to person, with many members still searching for relief while celebrating small wins along the way.

I agree eliminate sugar as much as possible. Eliminate grains. No msg. No artificial sweaters .. Except maybe stevia. Fresh everything as much as possible or fresh frozen. Always read ingredients. Pay close attention to how you feel after meals. ( oatmeal is an ok food but makes me lethargic.,so not good for me)
Go to Dr. Mercola and Dr Perlmutter sites. Very good info on all health topics. I have made I have made improvements But...no cure! My body still shows signs of inflammation....puffy, fat middle!?!
No sodas ESPECIALLY diet soda. Wish one hing worked for all. So individual. Bless us all❤️

I would suggest foods that are anti inflammatory. eat lots of veggies, fruits, and protein. cut out sugar and gluten. this is what is helping me. I cant speak for everyone ofcourse. I am certainly still not cured but am working on it and I think I am getting better slowly.

Caffeine is a no no too...I stopped having caffeine in January (except for chocolates which has low caffeine but I can't resist). Since then my restless leg syndrome has almost gone. I used to get it most evenings...maybe if I cut out chocolates too it would go completely but ITS TOO NICE!

I am down to being able to not eat very much but what I do eat, I usually have to prepare fresh.
I just watched a movie, however, and did eat some corn free, wheat free healthy type bean chips.
My body tends to do better with warm cooked foods. when my husband isn't here, I feel less motivated to make food cause it's only me, but when I do have some energy, I do like to prepare food for both of us plus it is a creative outlet, even if it is simple.

Dairy, wheat, and sugar are big ones. Fake sweeteners (besides stevia), too. I'm vegan (for animal reasons, not fibro-related) and stick mostly to whole foods, nothing processed. I truly believe the way I eat helps me so much. My rheumatologist thinks so, too. I can tell a big difference when I eat something really processed, fried, sugary, or containing wheat. I feel like total crap after and have more pain, headache and fibro fog the next day.
