It seems like fibromyalgia has completely destroyed my sex drive and urges so on and so forth. I don't know what else I can do. I don't know if I should try to up the milligrams of Viagra or take natural supplements to get my body back to where was. The second option is definitely my preferred method. I feel like the I'm the only male that is having these problems which is making the fibromyalgia 10 times worse. Please help.

Members connected over the deeply personal issue of lost sex drive with fibromyalgia, with many sharing that medications like Cymbalta and Effexor were major culprits that drastically reduced libido and sexual function, sometimes with effects lingering even after stopping the medication. Several members strongly recommended getting testosterone levels checked through bloodwork, sharing that low-dose testosterone therapy had successfully restored their sex drive, and others noted that blood pressure medications can also impact desire and function. A recurring theme was the reassurance that this struggle is not unique to any gender, the importance of reviewing all medications with a doctor to identify side effects, and the recognition that chronic pain itself takes a heavy toll on intimacy and relationships.

Omg, I'm not a male but yes my sex drive is zero!!! We used to lead a fairly active sex life, I think, but Fibro has changed that drastically!!! I have no interest whatsoever and don't enjoy it at all when we do engage! My husband is totally pissed and doesn't understand but hell, neither do I!! I don't know if it's the pain that's turned me off, the energy it takes or just the Fibro itself?? It's very hard on the marriage but what part of Fibro isn't? Good luck!

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I just wanted to add that women that are of menopause age get put on low-dose testosterone to boost their sex drive. Menopause plus fibromyalgia equal very low testosterone in women. Getting a blood test is the easiest route to solving this problem. I was put on low dose testosterone and my sex drive is back to equaling a 16-year-old boy ! Lol! Don’t hesitate to get it done.

I used to think it would be rough if two people with FM were married, but on this topic, that might work out pretty well. Haha!
