I really try not to complain or talk too much about what really is going on but I still feel as though I'm thought of as less than or a PIA. What do you all think? Tender day is all.

Members shared the painful experience of being dismissed or abandoned by loved ones who don't understand fibromyalgia, with many describing how phone calls stopped coming and relationships faded when chronic fatigue made participation difficult. Several members emphasized that education and visibility have helped over time, noting that increased media coverage of fibromyalgia eventually led some doubters to feel remorse, though family members and friends who refuse to understand may need to be kept at a distance for emotional self-preservation. A recurring theme was the frustration of invisible illness being met with disbelief even within support groups, balanced by the hard-won wisdom that you cannot force understanding on those unwilling to listen, and protecting your peace sometimes means letting go of relationships that drain rather than sustain you.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I couldn't I agree with you more. I've done the same and prayed that God would take me because it's so much suffering. I guess I was more or less in shock that she would say something like that. I agree education is necessary but sometimes I just get tired of having to explain myself to somebody who's ears don't work anyways. You take care and I hope your day is good and thank you for your words of wisdom. Hugs :)

Yes, I have went to support group in the state and everybody there had Fibro. We were all going around and my turn comes. Here's a wing dinger for you....a lady goes you don't look like you have Fibro. Everybody turns at me and looks strait at me. Then I said," Well I guess looks can be deceiving because you don't look like you have it either," Then everybody after she left, totally couldn't make since of it and we were laughing because she was one of are own. So I just answered stupidity with stupid. ignorance is bliss and knowledge is power. You just stay away from people like that. Its happened more than it should.

If people dont understand it they will think negatively & eventually stop calling you. I would say I can't Im to tired. It probably just sounded like an bad excuse.I dont even remember if I explained what I had at the time either. Either way people dont want an excuse all the time. They just stop calling you.
