Eye Problems
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone suffered from eye symptoms? Did you get diagnosed with anything or get treatment? Has anyone been to the opticians and did they find anything abnormal? Suffering terribly, i can't spend my life in a dark room. Please help x

I have days when my vision is more blurry than usual and I can’t see well. Also I do have light sensitivity. As far as when I went to optometry, she told me I had vision discomfort and to take breaks from my computer. Not sure if that helps. Do you suffer from migraines as well? I would go to get it checked out just to be safe.

Sarah, no worries about spelling it, I just wanted to spell it correctly for everyone so they know how to look up. I have this disease and it is at times the worst feeling. When its bad it feels like you've been through a dust storm in Arizona and forgot to close your eyes. They are on fire, swollen, and feels like dust/grit is in the eye and you can have blurry vision from it.

So the way I keep my eyes cleared up is to not wear any makeup and clean my eyes in the morning and at night with warm to hot water. I buy these eye scrubbing pads (OcuSoft Eye Lid Scrub) at CVS/Target/WalMart. It has a soap on the pads that is safe for the eye. I scrub my eye with them then use a clean wash cloth with the hot water to wipe away the soap. Then afterwards I use eye drops. I use eye drops 4 to 6 times a day. I do this every day. It helps keep the disease at a minimum. I was taught this by my eye doctor. I even have these at work just in case I need to wash my eyes.

I hope this helps everyone.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Hi, Sabrina. It's Viv. With fibromyalgia, you get a lot of sensitivity with your skin, eyes, hearing, taste, etc. I find that it's like an allergy due to some of the meds we take, my eyes would be watery, itchy, burning, crying. My doctor gave me prescription for Olopatadine 0.2% . Just a drop will take the itchiness or burning away. Take care. @MyFibroTeam users... Hope it will help you too. Take care.

I get dry eyes, itchy eyes, pain in eyes. I'm very sensitive to light. My left eye gets blurry randomly and I get black floaters almost all the time. Sometimes my vision looks a little foggy. I went to optomistrist and she gave me glasses for the blurry left eye. The problem is that it's not always blurry so the glasses were kind of a waste. It doesn't hurt to have them checked, just be cautious. She later told me not to use them unless I ABSOLUTELY had to because your eyes adapt to them and eventually get worse. I wouldn't have paid all that money if I knew that before hand! Lol
