Avoid foods that cause a flare. For me it is lactose. I also have a sensitivity to gluten. I am not full blown coeliac, but certain types of gluten causes me pain so I tend to avoid gluten and follow a gluten free diet and the Low Fodmap diet. Helps heaps.
