Yes Rosemary is right. I also have arthritis it is one of my other medical problems, and my fingers, wrists and hands get swollen and very painful at times.

Yes i do! I have arthritis in them. Going for a xray on some of me soon, theyd have been better off doing a proper scan of my body as so much bone wise needs looking at.i am meant to wear wrist splints each day on both wrists to help with the pain (taking them off for showers and bedtime) but they restrict movement and you have to keep taking them off to go to the loo and washing hands which is a pain as im back and forth to the loo a lot so unless Im in seriously bad pain I leave them off. Plus you have to be careful you don't have them on do long it weakens the muscles in your wrist but my dr recommended i get them (from a shop of course not through the nhs however!). You may have some arthritis there or it could be a little inflammation of the ligaments. If you get a lot of nerve pain you might be short of vitamin b complex, might be worth a blood test if you can get your gp to agree its a waste of time where i live in worcester as even if they find your levels are low they just tell you to get some from the chemist or supermarket even though you should be given vitamin b Strong complex which is a higher strength but they refuse to fund it and even if you are medically short of iron or folic acid they tell you to buy it rather than the nhs provide it. Its not a nationwide thing just a local decision as it is a local decision to only give women 3days worth of antibiotics for a uti rather than the full 7dsys treatment they are meant to give- its a local funding decision which means that you have to battle to get further antibiotic treatment by which time the bacteria thats been left become more resistant to the antibiotics you were on making it harder to treat and they may still refuse to treat it further. Then you end up with kidney damage. For the sake of saving pence they refuse to treat properly they then cause damage which causes the cost of treatment then costs hundreds of pounds!
