Despite all the meds I’ve tried there’s never been a day where I was completely pain free. A good day is manageable pain which I can ignore as long as I’m focused on something else.
Just wondering if anyone else experiences pain free days.

Members shared a heartbreaking consensus that they cannot remember their last truly pain-free day, with many describing decades of constant discomfort that has become their new normal, masked by smiles and managed through sheer determination. Several members offered practical strategies that have helped them cope, including combinations of Gabapentin and Lyrica, hot showers, magnesium citrate supplements, Tylenol 3, and lifestyle changes like avoiding sugar, alcohol, and caffeine. A recurring theme was the lonely reality of living with an invisible illness, the gratitude for online communities where they feel understood, and the daily challenge of pushing through pain just to function.

Not many. I take a lot of medications. Between meds and infusions for UC, I max out my deductibles each year.

To be honest, I have to take Tylenol 3 every morning along with the Fibro med, and all of my other UC meds.

I take a balance between Gabapentin and Lyrica to manage symptoms. The main draw back is I put on close to 30 pounds and my heart rate is not as good...I really need a better alternative.

Hot showers help me. Magnesium Citrate is a good supplement to use.

Depression makes all of it worse, and I can't tolerate many antidepressants. I just use OTC supplement called 5-HTP which is a quick and non dependent way of introducing seratonin. Still I can only take obe every other day as I easily get seratonin syndrome for some reason.

FYI, sugar is the devil. Avoid alcohol and caffeine. Limit loud music (FYI - I like rock and metal), its bad for the nerves and brain with this condition.

For some people sex may also trigger problems. Also exercise, so limit exercise and take it at your own pace.

a pain-free day for me is minimal "annoying" pain. but for us of course its just minimal, for someone else it could have them in tears
