Members shared practical strategies for managing hand and finger pain, with the most consistent recommendation being compression arthritis gloves worn snugly, especially overnight, sometimes combined with topical creams like Aspercreme covered by plastic gloves and regular gloves or mittens. Several members described additional relief methods including warm water soaks with Epsom salt and essential oils, TENS units with specialized gloves, finger and hand massages, stretching exercises, and keeping hands warm to prevent worsening pain. A recurring theme was the value of experimenting with affordable tools and layering different approaches, with members celebrating small wins and supporting each other through trial and error.

As my hand and finger pain are worse over night, I wear compression arthritis gloves. You can find them with the tops of the fingers exposed or not exposed. The important thing is that they fit snugly. Sometimes I'll massage my fingers and hands completely using the hand that hurts the least, followed by stretching. I'll also plunge my hands under warm (almost hot, but not too hot) water. It's very important not to let your hands get too cold. I've seen round massagers that fit over the fingers that can be worked up and down that aren't too expensive. I haven't bought one yet, but I know they can be found on-line at a large well-known retailer. They weren't expensive last time I looked. It's possible that there might be massagers for the palm, but I haven't looked for them yet. This is the extent of my knowledge and what helps me. Good luck to you. I know how rotten hand pain can be. P.S. I've used Aspercreme on my hands at times when they've been really unbearable, then put a latex glove over that, then a regular glove, or mitten.

Thank you all. You're awesome. The aspercreme, topped by plastic gloves & cheap winter stretch gloves, is helping. I cut off the tip of the thumb, so I could text. Works great. Ain't it crazy;. Lessened the pain in my fingers. Now I notice intense pain in back. Oh well. 😎. Distraction works best. Waiting for a house meeting. Afraid I might get in trouble for something. Breathe.

I have a TENS unit with gloves and that helps; also I have those Copper compression gloves, those work well also; but like other have said sock under warm water, I would recommend putting Epsom salt in there too and maybe some lavender oil or peppermint oil, then also put the Aperecreme stuff on or something similar. (Do not put TENS unit glove on with anything else and hands must be dry). I also have my Fiancé but lotion on my hands and gently massage them.

I looked up finger massager at an online retailer & found 2 inexpensive devices for under $5. I haven't gotten them yet, but hopefully they do some good. I'll let you know. 😎
