I have a top plate that I've never worn. When I was being fitted for them. They felt perfect! But when they came in and I had gotten home.. They would pop right out of my mouth... I could and should have taken them bk. But my dentist sd he couldn't do much more in the way of trying to file them down. Bcuz the roof part that goes in my mouth would be so thin that if I ate something to hard.. They would break in half... So, I've never worn them.. I used to be very embarrassed.. But I've gotten over that to a degree... I want ti be as comfortable as possible ...
@A MyFibroTeam Member I know what you mean my bottom ones are the worst. I found an awesome dentist, I pay out if pocket but he's worth it. Eating is the hardest. I miss so many foods. I'll never forget when I had a cheeseburger from McDonald's after months worth of mashed potatoes. Oh I savored each bite. People take them for granted I did. But it's no differant than fibro unless you have it you can't understand. I was hoping it was just me with the dentures, but I had 2 family members with fibro and they also ended up not using them. Praying for everyone who is going through what we are. Wish I could get the bottom permanent but since I got my confidence back, I should be thankful
@A MyFibroTeam Member n @A MyFibroTeam Member, thank u both for ur suggestions, they r greatly appreciated. - never thought of a baby toothbrush!
@A MyFibroTeam Member sounds like it's time for a realignment! ๐ค Gentle hugs.
Everything seems to stick to the top ones! Have you tried the paste that has scope, my dentist also puts mouthwash over paste before placing them. I also take a soft baby toothbrush and gently brush my mouth. And make sure you leave them out to rinse and give your mouth a break. Biotene makes a mouthwash specifically for dry mouth. Warm salt water, mouthwash, and very gentle brushing. Sorry I can't help more. I'm trying to get the right amount of adhesive so it doesn't take 30min ti remove causing more pain and wear and tear to my gums. Over half hr. Doesn't seem right.oh well. Hope this helped a little.
