Hi all of you. Do any of you get a weak voice and lose it intermittently, then it comes back after a while. It's uncomfortable because it makes it feel like my throat is twisting. It's so odd.

Members widely confirmed experiencing voice loss and throat discomfort alongside fibromyalgia, describing symptoms like hoarseness, frequent throat clearing, and a twisting sensation that comes and goes unpredictably. Several members shared practical advice including checking medications for side effects, getting thyroid function tested (as one member's goiter affected their voice and required thyroid removal), and considering muscle relaxants like Flexeril for throat spasms that can make swallowing difficult. A recurring theme was the frustration of discovering yet another unexpected symptom of fibromyalgia, with many expressing surprise that voice problems could be connected to the condition and emphasizing the importance of medical evaluation to rule out other causes.

Yes it is, people think I have a sore throat but its more than that. It's a horrible illness. I have Psa too and it's methotrexate night which makes me feel lousier than usual.

I get muscle spasms in my throat that causes the ligaments to get caught on things. I have to manually pop them back to where they go or else I can't swallow and I get terrible pain. The Flexeril I take helps most of the time, but sometimes it happens when I'm eating and I choke on my food. 😢
