Members shared their experiences navigating the challenging PIP assessment process for fibromyalgia, with many describing intense stress, feeling bullied or interrogated during assessments, and facing denials or reduced benefits despite legitimate need. Several members strongly recommended getting support from Citizens Advice Bureau or Welfare Rights when filling out forms and preparing for assessments, warning that assessors may misrepresent statements or use pressure tactics that can trigger flares and anxiety. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of proving invisible illness to skeptical systems, met with solidarity, prayers, and encouragement to fight for deserved benefits without shame.

Hi.I really had to fight hard for pip.I used to be on high DLA and low care for years but since PIP its changed.I am now getting middle care and low mobility.I could have appealed again but i just couldnt have coped and the FMS would have increased with all the stress.I had help from Citizens advice beaureu and they were a great help to me.I would suggest that you too get help from Welfare rights or Citizens advice. You need help and support especially to fill in these awful forms. Dont let them at Pip upset you or bully you.Because they will try there damndest to stop you getting it.Its so stressful and the lies they put down about me was just so upsetting and so nasty.Just please be careful what you say and do because they will try to hassle you and put you under pressure.Get help please.
