I had the same problem roughly 2yrs ago I noticed my balance was way off even walking to the kitchen I found myself reaching out to hold on to anything I could. I got up of the chair this one night to answer the door to my daughter after a nite out she forgot her key about 5-6 steps and totally lost my balance and hit the floor I couldn't get bk up as much as I tried anyway a long story cut short I suffered the pain in my foot for 4wks until I could take no more I went to A&E I had broken my foot in 3 places and was in a cast one day after the cast on I was helped of the chair to go to the loo it was thankfully down stairs and I fell again breaking the plaster again bk to hospital where they put me in one of those moon boots. I was in it for 12wks. Since then all I do is fall over nothing my legs simply get a tingling feeling and I'm down. I havnt drove in 14mths now my leg froze while driving I couldn't move it at all thankfully I wasnt driving dwn a hill I had to pull over using the hand break and get my dad to come get me. Im afraid of the same thing happening. I have OA in my knees and its a pain getting up and dwn stairs. I can't walk long distances even sleep is ridiculous the fibro pain with this has literally left me where I really only go to hosp & doc appts. I never go out on my own. I do my shopping online or my daughters get what I need I dunno wat id do without them or my family. Xx
I feel the same sometimes, not to the extent of falling yet but dang close.
At first, I was told I have an imbalance with one leg shorter than the other. I would be walking & suddenly one leg would give & I'd be down. Was sent to a neurologist who did some test & determined that I have nerve damage in the leg that gives me the trouble. After that the pain in that same leg, started on my hips. Rheumatologist than concluded that I have bursitis of the hip. Had cortisone shot which lessen the pain. After a month had second cortisone shot. Pain had gone down to feet. I then have Plantar Facilities. Have orthotics mold done for my shoes so that both feet will be level. This is all due to the nerve damage (strain) from having a leg shorter than the other.
You should see your rheumatologist & neurologist & find out.
Have a wonderful week. Hugs. πππ
@A MyFibroTeam Member - I don't know if it's part of Fibro but - - I have been having the same problem. I finally went to an orthopedic doctor who x-rayed the right knee and leg and all he saw was arthritis. He did give me a shot and it has helped.
It's a strange feeling.
As I said "I don't know if it is part of Fibro but I would check into it."
Take care.
