Members unanimously confirmed that weather significantly affects fibromyalgia symptoms, with barometric pressure drops being the most commonly cited trigger that often allows them to predict flare-ups before storms or rain arrive. Several members described how cold weather intensifies joint pain and muscle tightness while heat worsens non-pain symptoms like fatigue, nausea, and swelling, creating a frustrating cycle where no season feels truly comfortable. A recurring theme was the challenge of managing heightened sensitivities to temperature changes and the need for creative coping strategies like layering clothing, wearing socks to bed to improve circulation, and accepting that planning pain-free days around unpredictable weather is nearly impossible.

I can't go with our socks any more . I have a bunion in my foot and had surgery it came back. But I am stuck with it the doc pretty much said. But anyways I have ugly feet and I feel comfortable wearing socks now. Not only that I keep it to wear people don't have to look at me feet. LOL

I understand that.I have to wear socks to bed.I did read there was some sense to wearing socks. When your feet are cold your blood vessels constrict and cause more pain to your feet.My mom was always laughing at me as my grandpa was the same way, but it worked.Have a good weekend and thanks for sharing.

Oh yes, cold weather just about kills me. I dread winter, I lived in Michigan for 13 years and it was bad. It gets cold here in Oklahoma too, but not like Michigan. I work in a doctor's office that is cold all year around. I have to wear 2 pairs of socks and a long sleeve shirt under my scrubs plus a lab jacket and long johns in the winter...and still hurt.
