Hello guys. For months now I have been using Yerba Mate's high caffeine contain to help with my fatigue... But now it seems to be favourising flare-ups. How much caffeine is ok, and how much is too much? Is caffeine really bad for fibro? But then where can we get the extra energy?

Caffeine is a stimulant as you know, it's one of the worst things for fibro. It will stimulate pain and excite your system.. when you look at the process of pain and stress .. it's the last thing you want.. try something else for fatigue.. diet, stress relief, physio, yoga etc etc.

I'm severely sensitive to caffeine so I really can't drink coffee or yerba mate but I do really well with matcha green tea it's the only thing that can get me through the bad days of fatigue. :-)

I've always felt better when I nix the caffeine (I struggle with that though). Vitamin B12 or 6, and Chi seeds give me a huge boost though. My fave is the Momma Chi drinks. One of those in the morning and I'm good for most of the day.

Have you tried Green Tea - it might not be as bad for you. I drink Protein Boost usually once or twice a day.

I've gone to drinking one cup of coffee or tea a day. I drink it as i get ready for work to get rid of any grogginess I might have from my night time meds. I avoid caffeine the rest of the day as it increases my pain levels. If I need to boost my energy levels I drink XXX vitamin water. I can't tell what in it helps but it gives me enough energy to get through my work day.
