I'm newly diagnosed and am experiencing tingling/ numbness in my hands, arms, feet and legs. Most commonly it's in my left hand and arm though. It feels weak almost? I can still lift things and carry things, but the muscles feel like they are extremely fatigued. I don't know how else to describe it. My doctor didn't seem satisfied with my explanation and just said to go to the ER if it becomes weakness that makes it difficult to hold or carry objects.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is thisā¦ read more
I can't tell you if it's normal to Fibromyalgia but I do experience these symptoms. Last week I freaked out because my arms stopped working and my gripped weakened. I was unable to pick anything up, or put any power into my movements. I'm not sure what the cause is yet. After, my arms were painful, pins and needles and weak. Now it's worn off. I'll let you know what I find out. I'm determined to get to the bottom of that because I have a manual therapy career I'm determined not to have to give up.
People with fibromyalgia may have feelings of numbness and tingling in their hands, arms, feet, legs or sometimes in their face. These feelings can suggest other disorders, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, neuritis or even multiple sclerosis. Therefore, people with fibromyalgia often undergo numerous tests for such conditions, only to find that the test results are normal. It is very frustrating to go through all of these tests and it does not show that anything is wrong so now when you are in front of your Dr. you are now feeling ashamed as if you just wasted their time or that they are thinking that it is all in your head. It's not all in your head it is there.
My attack was so intense and has been intermittently going weak. Speech has also been odd, so has my gait and an annoying muscle spasm in my face. These are all new symptoms I am having checked out. I want an MRI because I suspect MS. Every flare up I have is getting worse with new symptoms each time.
yes! and getting worse. I hate even driving lately. have to relieve one hand or the other. Even typing is hard. Also my anxiety is through the roof. Good Luck!
I am so sorry, Amy. Well, Iām GLAD that you donāt have neck issues. That, of course, is good! š I have had the tingly tongue too, but thankfully that was quite awhile ago. It really is mind boggling all of the strange symptoms that come and go with Fibro, isnāt it? My greatest peace came when, after the multitude of tests, which all came out fine, and after being diagnosed with Fibro, I came to accept it for the most part. I say for the āmost partā because I havenāt really accepted yet that I canāt do all of the things I want to do mostly because of my lack of energy, but also because of the pain (stiffness & achiness).
