If a fibro person or anyone who has a chronic illness has a blood test, does it affect them differently to someone who hasn't got it?
I know different nurses are more qualified etc but...... I had blood tests yesterday and when the needle was coming out of my arm it stung very badly and the stinging sensation went down the same side of my body and into the back of my leg. It was very sore for about an hour then it suddenly went off and my arm was the only thing that hurt.

I agree that it sounds like she hit a nerve. That happened to my granddaughter who just finished school to become a blood taker!! LOL. I forgot the name..... anyway, one of the students hit her wrong and now she has no feeling in that area. It wouldn't hurt to ask for the most experienced to draw your blood. I can really tell when it's a student. However, I have great veins according to all the nurses.
That would be my guess too. I had a vein hit one time during a trigger point injection and I thought I was going to faint! It was one of those rare things that can happen and I've had injections since the. W no problem
I have to get blood drawn every 3 months and I've never had that happen. I agree with @A MyFibroTeam Member, it sounds like a nerve was hit.
I think that maybe they caught a nerve when taking blood , it happened to me a while ago and I had same effect x
I have had this happen to me before! I don't think it has to do with Fibromyalgia, but it's definitely painful. I have very delicate veins so they always have to use the smallest needles. Don't know if you have this too but it might be worth asking next time. :)
