Members shared a wide range of alternative therapies they've tried for fibromyalgia, with acupuncture receiving the most mixed feedback, ranging from life-changing pain relief and improved quality of life to no benefit or even worsening pain during treatment. Several members described finding relief through a combination of approaches including massage therapy, chiropractic care, cupping, essential oils, Epsom salt baths rich in magnesium, natural hot springs, and various supplements like vitamin B12, vitamin D3, and magnesium oil. A recurring theme was that different therapies work for different people, emphasizing the importance of trying approaches one at a time to assess what works, choosing trusted practitioners carefully, and never giving up on finding natural options that bring relief.

Acupuncture has changed my life. If I did not do it I would not be able to get out of bed or have any kind of quality of life. I know we are all different and don't respond the same but I also believe it's who you go to see when you are receiving acupuncture. Most days I have zero pain. Some days when I overdo it I will have pain at night. But between acupuncture and massage I'm just about feeling like I did before my diagnosis. I hope you find something that works for you that is natural. Never give up because you never know what that one thing will be.

I went to acupuncture before I knew the pain I had was fibro, but in the worst pain of my life. During the treatment I got some relief, but afterwards the pain was worse. Now apparently that can be normal ("healing crisis"), but I went as much as I could for 18 months and that never changed.
Knowing what I know now, I believe that a combination of talking therapy and a body therapy of some type, can be helpful for people with an emotional cause to their fibro i.e. trauma (and I am a therapist but that advice would only suit some people). X

I find essential oils help quite a bit. So much so that I have signed up to start selling as an amazing independent rep.

Meant to say that anyone who rejects your diagnosis or doesn't believe your pain doesn't deserve to treat you. Please know you have rights. Good luck and take care.

I would find out what she does and then look into it, before deciding if you want to try it, whatever it is. Different things definitely suit different people, but knowledge is power and can offer choices.

Just as another example, I cannot let even those I trust, touch me in the lightest way much above my back. Massage on my upper back, neck and shoulders would kill me.
