Members confirmed that hair loss is a common and distressing experience with fibromyalgia, with several noting it may be linked to stress, certain medications like Gabapentin or Lyrica, thyroid issues, or menopause rather than fibromyalgia alone. Many shared practical strategies, including checking thyroid levels with a doctor, taking vitamin D supplements, and trying specialized hair care products like Keranique or Carol's Daughter shampoo to help reduce shedding. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of losing hair and the importance of investigating underlying causes with a healthcare provider rather than assuming it is solely fibromyalgia related.

I noticed that when I went into menopause. Three months after my periods stopped I noticed my hair was thinning. So it could be that or certain meds too. Another thing to look forward to UGH!

I just started using Keranique for thinning hair; not sure yet how it works.
I have used Carols Daughter shampoo/conditioner, and I actually noticed less hair coming out.
God Bless
