have been to a primary care physician here in Colorado, by my Rheumatologist in Florida. I went to her to establish a report and to get a referral for a pain clinic and rheumatologist. Well as soon as the Dr walked in I knew what I was in for. She immediately told me if I was there to get my vicodin and opinion meds filled I could forget it. I told her I needed her to direct me to the proper facilities for my pain and my fibro. Then she told me there is no way a Dr would give me the meds I said… read more

I agree. Vicodin helps me handle the pain better than anything I have tried...and believe me I have been put on many narcotics and over the counter. I do not get a buzz and it doesn't stop the pain...just helps me handle it better, along with the Prozac. But with all that is in the news, I can't get any help. I asked for a script in August of last year (30 tablets) only taking when I can't handle on my own. Asked for a refill in December...no...need to stop with pills. I don't really feel like I'm abusingthem when I ask for 30 every 4 weeks. Government is causing us more pain than necessary.
Very interesting. I know they want to reduce the opiod "crisis", but it is not through hurting people who are in chronic, illnesses. Most doctors are responsible and know those who need pain meds and those who don't. I have also worked with my doctor for years to get to a place that I feel pretty good. He knows that I have stock pilled some meds, just in case. You know, we need to get back to where the doctor made the decisions he felt was right, not the insurance company or the government.
Kaiser health care the doctors all communicate so well, everyone is pro mmc. The use of medical majuana was brought to me on 2nd visit. I use the oil, drop under my tongue bedtime...good results
The new one on evergreen. Near Tansbourne. I see Dr. Chowerly. See listens, open to referrals. She sent me to Dr. Greenwood Rubitologst. He dignoised, she treats as my primary. I have any questions she flat tells me she will find out.. on my chart you see the converse.
I can't say enough about their web site. See test results, your charts, email your doctor's direct. My first doctor that was part of the Portland clinic but shares with Kiaser. He treated me the same as the doctor you explained.. I wrote him a direct email, explained my concerns of his behavior, why he may be incorrect..I then CC several of the other doctors. He volunteered to pass me to a Dr better suited for me. His notes removed...happy day.
Need anything else let me know glad to share.
Have a blessed pain free day
