Treatments For Fibro In UK?
I have been taking 150mg serteraline and 20mg of amitriptyline for a while now and the only change I have seen is that I sleep slightly better than before. These pills are obviously not pain meds as I try to avoid them at all costs but its a real struggle when you can't move for days at a time
Can anyone being treated for fibromyalgia in the UK tell me what has helped them for the pain etc. I need to research before going to the doctor as they are not very clued up about fibro

Hi, I had started out wishing to avoid pain meds altogether, apart from the occasional @@ibuprofen, until like you I couldn't move. My doctor initially gave me amitriptyline, then progabilin then gabapentin, all of which I had bad reactions too (the latter two being epilepsy drugs) they completely zombied me out, my vision was affected and I lost my balance I've since settled for tramadol for pain plus naproxen (for my arthritis inflammation, and reoccurring costochondritis (fibro related chest tenderness/inflammation)) and also take sertraline. The tramadol helps me a lot and the dosage variable dependent on how much I'm doing. I mean I can adjust it as I need to, so I'll take less if I'm staying indoors for the day, and an extra midday pill for a shopping trip for instance. I would say I have a better quality of life since using it.
I hope that you will find what suits you, as I believe we all deserve to be able have an acceptable quality of life. I also try to avoid sugar, especially in sweets, biscuits and drinks, as I have a major joint pain flare if I indulge! Keep searching, you will be successful. Soft hugs 🌸

Hi,
You could ask your doctor about morphine
Patches.
They usually start you of on a low dose and build you up on them.
They definitely help me with pain in my back and legs, don't know how I would cope without them. Hope this helps ❤️❤️❤️
Only useful comments please sharla. I take minimal medication I know a lot of people with fibromyalgia who are on 10+ types of medication
