Usually, when I wake up feeling 105 years old and can't stand to move I can be sure it has rained or is going to rain (or snow). Sometimes it happens when there has been a sudden increase in temperature or when it is overcast and the pressure is low. This time, however, it is just windy and there is no rain. It has been nice and sunny but I've been spending my days in bed because I hurt too bad to do anything. We don't get wind very often so I'm wondering if wind affects anyone else this… read more

I find that it doesn't matter what kind of weather change it is, all sudden changes make me flare up, with cold and wet being the worst. I also find that there is a correlation that with the bad weather, I am less active and that also makes me feel worse. Who wants to go out when it's cold outside and you're hurting? But giving in to it makes me feel worse. But I still do sometimes because I'm just hurting so much. The best thing I did was get my part time job that makes me get out and moving.

Thank you @A MyFibroTeam Member I am feeling a little better since it has been very hot here. It got into the 90's here yesterday which is unusual for Fairbanks, Alaska. It was so hot and humid but my pain was not as bad so that made it worth it.

@Donna171 - I agree with BethAcee- Weather plays a very unusual part in the pain index. Usually wind either follows rain, etc. so I would be inclined to believe that the wind does cause pain. The barometric pressure is the thing that triggers a flare. Unusual weather such as rain, snow, humidity, extreme cold are are indicators of pain increase. Stress is another "culprit" to increase your pain.

This disease is so unpredictable. There are so many things that cause pain. I have been in bed for almost a week - - off and on. We had rain for almost three days in MA. and a drop in temperature--tomorrow they are saying we could reach 90 degrees. I have learned to take one day at a time. We cannot plan on going for even a cup of coffee with a friend because we cannot plan ahead. It's absolutely miserable.

Console ourselves in knowing that we are not alone. I think this site have over 3,000 people or even more. I have noticed that folks from the UK are coming down with Fibro too. I think it's because of the damp weather.

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY: Life on earth is really nothing more than a string of moments, one after another.
Trust in God as He has a plan for each of our lives.
