Lawyers don't seem to work as well but it something you need to start before you're out of the workforce completely. And if it's denied, appeal. It's something you don't want to fool around with. Hi Josie, other than fibro, both knees are shot, and I had 2 pulmonary embolisms, back to backSo, my lungs are only working at about 75%? I am in Canada, so I'm not sure how it works elsewhere...if you already have a pension, you can't get the disability pension. You are aloud to have a house, car, cabin, etc. The pension is based on the years you worked and the income you earned. In Canada, you are allowed to earn 5500 per year without it affecting your pention. It also allows you to do volunteer work. They also allow you to try to go back to work...within 1 year, if you deside you are incapable of working, they will reinstated you pension. I applied for disability for fybro and a few other issues. I was refused 2 times, but I didn't give up. It went to the tribunal and they finally called with the good news that it was accepted. They retrospectived my account 32 months...which was very much appreciated. I encourage you to apply and have your doctor on your side...don't give up!
