Members shared personal experiences and practical advice for discussing fibromyalgia with employers, with several noting how invaluable it was to have a boss who either had fibro themselves or knew someone close who did. Many recommended applying for FMLA protections through a doctor, researching workplace disability accommodations like adjusted hours or modified duties, and preparing a concise written summary of symptoms and management strategies to present during a scheduled conversation. A recurring theme was the importance of framing the discussion around needing support rather than inability to work, understanding legal protections under disability discrimination laws, and exploring benefit programs that allow part-time work while receiving assistance.

Hi Monica and Pepper67

I attended the pain management course at antriee hospital Liverpool.

I was referd by my pain consultant.

At the course it helps you manage your pain by input of various medical teams EG:
Pyshiothearpist
Pychologist
Consultants
You learn tools and technics how to manage your condition.
Support with work issue
Occupational therapist.

Check out your policy in work what they have in place EG :
Disibility working act and discrimation.

There is also what you call a
disability working taylored work adjustment.

This document is on the Web site.

This as information what should be put in place by your Employee depending on the type of employment you are working under.

And if your employer agrees
EG :
Change of work duties
Less hours
Working conditions adjustment in the work place.
Break
Leave of absent for appointments so it does not effect your employment record.
Review back to work
Review on taylored work adjustment to see if adjustment in place is working ur if needs changeing.

If your able to talk to your employer talk to He/She and explain your concerns regarding your health.

Don't say your not capable to do your job.
Explain you have a Disibility and you need support.

Also check out information on Web sites to see if there is any free information agency in your area to assist to appoint you to the right organisation to help you with employment right.
Good luck to you both.

Hello Andria
Magnesium does help to retain the muscle tissue. It also helps with the inflammation. Vitamin B-12 also help with muscle tissue. Vit C 4,000 mil. Will help with the inflammation and subsequently you will feel less pain. Hope you feel better. Hugs.

Pinterest has lots of articles on it that explain it concisely or even Google it to find a medical doctors explanation. If it were me I would write up a concise timeline of when it started and how it manifests in you and how you continue to work with it and look for better management of the symptoms just a thought
Presented at the end of the day or put it in a mailbox and then asked to discuss it when It is convenient for her sometime in the next couple weeks
