I loved driving when I first got my license at the age of 38. But now I dread it my fibromyalgia is gotten to the point where I am always in pain and by the end of the day it hurts so bad to move.
I agree, anything more than an hour is very painful later. My stepsons live 16 hours away and we get them and take them home for simmersion and christmas breaks. Puts me in bed for 3 or 4 days each time. It's not just the driving, it's riding too!
Hurts to turn my neck to look left. I have to drive carefully.
It definitely causes a lot of pain to drive for long periods of time. Running errands around town is all about I can do to keep pain to a minimal. If I go out of town, for one I wouldn't be able to drive and two who ever I drive with with need to make many stops for me, it's not very convenient.
I cant drive long distances anymore and i drive an automatic car also i have to pull in to rest as muscles ache all over. Havi g to shop online and only use car to go local shops as i cant walk the distance.I wish the government would stop penalising disabled people constantly .when u have enough to cope with in ur daily life id give anything not to be like this so i have to grin and bare it.wish they could walk in my shoes for a day or two , see how they would cope.
Yes driving takes a lot out of me.i feel because I have to focus more on the road because fibromya does affect your vision.it wears me out
