Members bonded over the frustrating reality of insomnia and disrupted sleep with fibromyalgia, with many describing getting only 1-4 hours per night, waking frequently, or going days without restful sleep despite trying multiple remedies. Several members shared medications and strategies that have helped them achieve better sleep, including Trazodone (the most frequently mentioned), imipramine to restore deeper REM stages 3 and 4, melatonin, Benadryl, Ambien, cannabis where legal, CPAP machines for sleep apnea, and YouTube hypnosis videos. A recurring theme was that fibromyalgia uniquely disrupts deep REM sleep and natural cortisol rhythms, leaving many feeling exhausted no matter how long they lie in bed, yet members encouraged each other to keep trying different approaches and to rest whenever possible without guilt.

I take Trazodone 100 mg and get about 5-6 hrs sleep a night. It truly helps.

Fellow Fibro Warrior here. 2 hours sleep a night for 6 years. I thought I was going to go crazy. My doctor put me on a medication called Aspen Trazidone. This has helped so much. I sleep so well.

I used to take 10 mg Ambien. I slept good for a few hours then I would be awake after about 3-4:00. My husband said I would get up and make a snack. There is a lot that I don't remember. Now I take 2 Benadryl at bedtime and sleep like a baby all night!!
