Does anyone have a recommendation for a good Pain Mgmt doc in San Antonio, TX? I want one that doesn't make me feel like a drug seeker or addict...and that listens to me without making me feel like a hypochondriac...and also doesn't just throw new pills at me.. lol does that make sense?
@A MyFibroTeam Member - I don't know of any in Texas but I have been to one here in Massachusetts. They are great. The doctor I had would inject my neck and shoulders and what relief that would give. They deal only with the management of pain so they know just how to treat it.

Call you local hospital and ask them to give you the names of the Pain Management Clinic in your area. I am sure you will be very happy.

Thank you all very much for your answers and suggestions.
I did find one just off our pure luck and I think I'm going to like the clinic a lot. It's Dr. Narciso Gonzalez in Live Oak (www.paindoctor.com/Gonzalez) He was very patient and listened to me. His NP Elaine is also wonderful and spent a lot of time with me.
So far so good...I will keep y'all updated. I go back June 5th for MRI results of lower back and to discuss possible treatments to help alleviate my pain there.
I dont have a pain management doc but I see a Rhuematologist in San Marcus. I also have another PA I see in Stone Oak that helps w/ hormonal issues. She checks for vitamin deficiency and diagnosed me w/ Hashimoto"s. I take supplements but also see a chiropractor and a massage therapist to manage pain. My Rhuematologist is understanding and knows what alternative I use.
I don't have a pain management dr but my Rhuematologist helps me with my Fibro & RA pain. Dr Kenneth DesRosier in San Antonio. Dr Feinstein is also in the same group & he is good.
No but good luck with finding one that believes in firo , i went to one and they tried to put me on methadone and another one just plainly said there is nothing called Fibro and would not give me any pain meds ! so now i refuse to go ! try calling the DR's office and simply ask how does he/she fill about fibro , or ask does he have a lot of fibro patients he 'see's ! love peace and joy ! michele
