Members empathized deeply with someone whose fibromyalgia worsened significantly after being crushed between train doors, sharing that physical trauma, medical procedures, stress, and overexertion are all common flare triggers. Several members described learning to recognize their body's warning signs, like shakiness or fatigue, and stopping activity before pushing too far, while others noted that injuries or surgeries tend to cause longer and more severe symptoms for people with fibromyalgia. A recurring theme was the emotional weight of living with an invisible illness, including feeling unsupported by loved ones and struggling to balance the desire to stay active with the real need for rest and self-compassion.

Yes any injury or surgery a fibromyalgia patient will suffer worse and longer possibly forever

Travel is a big trigger for me - but the worst is still caused by lack of sleep.

Yes. If I'm stressed or do too much I pay in a bad flare...always. the pain meds help but if I move around it's supposed to help but l guess I have to find out.when to stop.
