I am tempted to ask my rheumatologist for something for anxiety. I have always been an anxious person and I feel like it could really be effecting me more now. It's for sure making my pain worse. Has anyone had any luck with anti-anxiety meds helping their pain? If so have you had any negative Side effects?
I take anti-anxiety pill at night to help me relax through the pain and stop my brain from worrying over things I cannot change. The hardest thing to accept is that this pain is here for life. That it will not get better only worst. I'm 59 years old and I have been in pain since I was a teenager. Take what helps weather it's the pain or the mind or nerves. It all comes together.
Cymbalta is actually prescribed for Fibro. It helps me, plus it makes my mental health better. I also have severe anxiety from PTSD. A low dose Valium (5mg) once or twice a day helps a lot! Good luck and gentle hugs to you.
I had to ask my primary care doctor to prescribed them for me.
Before you turn to meds, try some therapy? There are also many youtube videos and forums for helping with anxiety..
