Members shared their struggles with fibromyalgia-related insomnia, with many describing years of trying various medications before finding relief, and several experiencing only fragmented sleep of 10-minute intervals or 2-hour stretches despite exhaustion. Several members found success with specific medication combinations, including Seroquel prescribed by a psychiatrist who addressed underlying trauma, hydroxyzine with melatonin, a custom cocktail of Ambien with muscle relaxers and antihistamines, trazodone with counseling, and Effexor. A recurring theme was the importance of working closely with specialists to find the right treatment, as well as practical strategies like regulating body temperature, establishing a regular bedtime routine, and using relaxation techniques before sleep.

Yes I do for many many years and the doctors tried with so much medications to see which one worked and none of them did 😩😩

Until now that my psychiatrist figured out what was wrong that I couldn't sleep and because of my background and upbringing she figured I would need a psychotherapy medication and prescribed Seroquel which is an antipsychotic to help with issues like I was experiencing and after so many years I finally not only find a medication but I found a psychiatrist that understands my issues!!

So if you see a psychiatrist explain to them exactly what you're going through don't feel embarrassed just let them know what is not allowing you to sleep and they'll send you the medication needed for you to sleep through the night without having nightmares and/or any other issues that keep you up at night!!

Good 😊 luck and I hope you find your support soon πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

Thanks everyone for the tips on sleep. I've been on all the meds mentioned. Now I think I need to speak to a specialist on a proper cocktail that will keep me asleep...
BTW... I didn't sleep a wink last night...ugh
The problem with not sleeping is after a few days I'll crash hard and be so exhausted for a couple of days..

The combination that works the best for me is Hydroxyzine and Melatonin, along with a regular bedtime. It helps if I had worked hard (or exercised) in the day and I'm tired. However, I too have a problem. Sometimes, I wake on the hour all night. Lately, I have slept for about 3 hours, then wake. If you find the answer, please shout it out to us all. In friendship, Kim

Yes I do, I'm lucky to get 2 hours a night and have been like that since August 2016. My 2 hours is not solid 2 hours it's made up of 10 min naps all night. I've just been given Zopiclone again for the first time since August to try and break the cycle. My GP thought it could have been depression causing it but nope. I've been on a programme that's suppose to help but hasn't. I'm so tired I feel like I could sleep for a year but just can't sleep at all, it's driving me mad. I've spent a fortune on a mattress, pillows and bedding and still can't sleep but I'm very comfortable while I'm awake just completely drained. I notice this morning it's beginning to show now black bags under my eyes. I did get 6.5 hours sleep last night with the help of Zopiclone but would rather not have to take them. I used to be able to sleep for 16 hours a night of a weekend. Now think I'm lucky to get that a week. I think I'm heading towards the sleep clinic next x

I have it bad too. Ambien and ambien xr worked for a while. Trazadone helps. Unfortunately both make it extremely hard for me to wake up due to sleep apnea and not getting restful sleep. I feel like I can relate so much to chronic fatigue sufferers.
