I have had fibro now for 15 years and was recently diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis now too so I was wondering if anyone else has this also? If so, does anything help? I am on two new medications for it but it hasn't helped much.
I think most people with fibro have several other medical issues, which could explain why they have fibro. Check with your pharmacist about the new medications because some need to build up in your body in order to have an effect.
I have both too and raynauds most people i think have a combination of diff things , my treatment is Rutiximab infusion done twice a year done in hospital for the day which im due for wednesday , it supposed to dampen down the athritis by lowering the white blood cells which has its pit falls. As your imune system is low so your prone to infections and have to carry an alert card with you , it does work but every ones different some have only a small amount of ease from pain but others feel fantastic , i must add i havent been lucky enough yet to feel fantastic but you know when your next infusion is due my wrists go very still and the pain of the athritis gets worse , You have two infusions a year done in hospital as it has to be monitered by a nurse which takes usually takes from 4 to 6 hours to go through the system , i feel sorry for any one who suffers from these illnesses they do effect your life but you have to stay strong and try your damdest to stay positive ,
Thank you Sandymee, I appreciate the info on the infusion. The pills I was on elevated my liver enzymes so I am having a liver ultrasound tomorrow actually and have more blood work to see if they have gone down and to check for hepatitis and tuberculosis before I start either Humera or Enbrel which are injections. I know my rheumatologist office does do infusions. Basically it is wait and see what works at this point. I get really bad hand and wrist pain. I will try to stay positive, it helps to know others have it also.
Thank you for the info. I go back to the rheumatologist in two more weeks. It's just so frustrating waiting to see what works. Have a good day!
