I have found that when my symptoms are at their worst, my muscles tend to jerk. Mainly in my hips and upper legs. This happens so much so that I look like someone with Parkinson's. It has meant I have, at times, needed to walk with 2 sticks. During a particularly bad flare the jerking was also apparent in my upper body and my head would bob up and down. These aren't symptoms typically listed for fibro; I am wondering if anyone else has this happen?
Yes I'm constantly twitching, have spasm etc it's all linked...xx
I did re.ad somewhere that these twitches are associated with Fibro. But we all know you can read that in one place and just the opposite in another. However, I do have twitches from time to time -- not bad ones or extremely jerky, just one twitch that seems to come out of nowhere. It's not like when my muscles are tired from exercise; I can usually feel those coming on. The ones I'm talking about just happen out of nowhere
Yep. My hands will sometimes do things by theirselves--let go of plates etc. but nothing as bad as that. Usually accompanied by a flair, so I figure the irritated nerves are just firing randomly--like the restletless leg syndrome that tends to go with fibro--just in other places of my body.
I had terrible twitching when my fibro was more out of control. I usually got them when I was relaxing, and one would fire on one side of my body followed immediately by another on the opposite side. The result was impressive: my body would flop on the bed, reminding me of the electric shock heart paddles lifting a body up of a gurney! Those heavy duty twitches seem to be gone, but I do still get some more mild ones that act as an aura does for a migraine-I know heavy symptoms are on their way!
I had twitching and spasms and my dr put me on baclofen and that helped to stop them.
