I take it very sparingly but I felt the effects within a few days. I take only 50mg twice a day, if that. Sometimes only once. It makes people gain weight where the gabapentin did not. I syarted getting extremely anxipus on gabapentin so I quit taking it. After a week of using Lyrica, I started feeling its full effect. Calming and mych less pain.

It can take weeks for relief to sink in, unfortunately for me I had taken it for two weeks and I was having side effects from it.

Hi, I tried @lyrica and it took a few days for me to realise any effects, like you nothing at all for the first 3 days. I have read that it has helped people, but unfortunately for me it caused severe grogginess and poor balance. I had to stop using it after 2 weeks. I couldn't see to drive and I felt awful. I literally stumbled sideways as though the floor had tipped. It seems like one of those meds that a lot of people struggle with. I'm currently trying gabapentin instead, lowest dose possible. I have a very low tolerance which causes me difficulty trying new meds.
The doctors will try things out, and can only rely on your feedback as to whether it works for you. I hope you have good results with it, however please take care and ask to change it if is too unpleasant for you. It's about finding a good quality of life. 3 weeks to 3 months is the standard, however I would not be using Lyrica at all. Horrible side effects. I am on gabapentin and valdoxan. It does seem very few get away with Lyrica working over causing weight gain, headaches and worse....
