Does anyone find it hard or painful to sleep with their spouse? If so, how do you deal with our?
Luckily we have a king sized bed. Having space helps... otherwise I feel stuck and can't get ina comfy position
yeah. it was a big problem before i was diagnosed. he would put his arm around me and i would say ouch! or just move his arm. i felt awful about it and he felt rejected. after diagnosis it opened up a line of communication because i was able to tell him it was "normal" and we both felt a little better about it. it still bothers me that we can't cuddle throughout the night like we used (and not because the dog insists on sleeping between us). we have come to this nonverbal agreement that we cuddle for about a half an hour then i need to scoot over and reposition. and we purchased a memory foam topper for our bed and that helps with my hip pain a lot! being "intimate" has troubled us more because of some terrible pain issues and that is where our real problem lies, but that a whole other story.
i just let him know how i am feeling and what works and what doesn't; communication is key.
good luck!!

We also have a king size bed which helps. I use a bolster cushion to support my body and I either lie with it wrapped round me or use it as an extra pillow to sleep sitting upright. It des help but do feel like its a third person in the bed. My hubby is understanding though and always tells me not to move to cuddle him goodnight if im in too much pain.
A few years back I bought a Sleep Number bed (full size). And we bought a brass/enamel bed frame. Looking back, I really wish I bought a queen size mattress, but it's too late now. And while I like being close to my husband (we have only been married 8 years), I do often wish we had a bit more space.
