Members confirmed a notable overlap between fibromyalgia and thyroid conditions, with many sharing that they take medications like Armour Thyroid, Thyroxine, or Synthroid, though most noted that treatment improved brain fog and confusion without necessarily relieving the fatigue. Several members mentioned specific thyroid diagnoses including hypothyroidism, Graves' disease, and Hashimoto's disease, with one member sharing recent research suggesting fibromyalgia patients may benefit from keeping thyroid levels in the upper normal range rather than just within range. A recurring theme was the hope that treating thyroid issues would ease fibromyalgia symptoms, tempered by the reality that while some improvements occurred, many challenging symptoms like exhaustion and pain persisted.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I saw research recently that advocates all sufferers of fibromyalgia should be kept in the upper range of normal thyroid levels. This said that just being within the normal range was not enough.

I don't agree with this as fibro is not an autoimmine disease. I would say it's more stress related.. stress can cause so much damage, and the thyroid relies on us being balanced.

I sure do, Janet. Am taking Armour Thyroid. I know my doc hoped some of the schiness and fatigue would let up but it has not.
