Members shared mixed experiences with gabapentin for fibromyalgia, with some finding meaningful pain relief at higher doses while others reported it made symptoms worse or provided no benefit at all. Several members described significant side effects including weight gain of 20 to 40 pounds, drowsiness, blurred vision, a drunk feeling, increased appetite, and difficulty walking, though a few felt lucky to experience minimal issues beyond occasional dizziness. A recurring theme was that fibromyalgia treatment is highly individual with no one-size-fits-all solution, and many emphasized the importance of monitoring your body's response, starting with lower doses, and being willing to switch medications like Lyrica if gabapentin doesn't work for you.

Amen sister. My body lets me know before the clock does it's time to take meds.

I take 300mg twice a day, it helps but doesn't take the pain away as much as i would like it to, I have a strange side effect where about two hours or so after taking it, I feel drunk and my eyes go blurry for about an hour and then I get the gabapentin hang over and munchies lol not sure if I'm going to stay on it but it's helped

I was extremely Allergic to it. I take @lyrica. But you have to do what's best for you. As you see from 7 answers we all have different responses. That's what the Drs hate about FM, is that there is no one size fits all or for that matter not even most.

Miracle for me. Lower dose didnt help but increase very effective. Im one of the lucky one with no side effects other than dizzy if i stand up too fast, and im not sure which med is doing that

I'm on 1200mg a day. It helps me, but if I try to cut back one I hurt like crazy.
