I take Ativan to manage at the dentist. I also take an eye mask and have.music and headphones to.mask any noises. I ask them to use only vinyl gloves as well. Also don't plan to have anything else that day or the day after.
Hi well luckily I have a very good dentist that knows all about fibro, and was able to tell me that what was happening to my teeth was down to it. I have always looked after my teeth and have nor had any problems. Then about 4 yrs ago they would bleed, had gaps as though they were moving and she couldn't even touch them. I now have gum disease, I have prescription toothpaste which helps with sensitivity and if I have a flare up she just looks and doesn't touch.
I find i am more sensitive to pain , but a few deep breaths to calm the anxiety and concentrating on your breathing does help take your mind off any pain ...if not comfortable with that try getting the dentist to numb the area first....
Ring round, I have a dentist that knows more about fibro, stress and muscles in the face etc than I do after 20 years.. he is soooo lovely and understanding
Hi ,I'm just the same as you! but I told my dentist and told her I was scared going to the dentist, and very sensative, my dentist has been very kind and understanding. If your dentist does'nt consider your feelings, change your dentist
