What exactly are the symptoms you get when you eat anything with gluten? Thank you for sharing I appreciate it.
I have IBS-D and want to know if gluten could be causing some of my flares.

Members shared diverse experiences with gluten and IBS-D, with some finding significant relief through elimination diets while others saw little to no improvement despite strict adherence. Several members described their gluten-related symptoms as including severe bloating, stomach cramps, loud digestive sounds, gas, diarrhea, migraines, joint inflammation, and chest tightness, while practical strategies mentioned included the Low FODMAP elimination diet, keeping food journals to identify triggers, trying gluten-free alternatives gradually, and considering medical testing for celiac disease or food intolerances before making drastic dietary changes. A recurring theme was that trigger foods vary greatly from person to person, with some finding relief by reducing rather than eliminating gluten, and many emphasized the importance of working with medical professionals and being patient since dietary changes can take months to show results.

Get Sally's book, "Nourishing Traditions". It's a must for anyone with IBS.

Hello fellow Warriors!
For years I had bad stomach cramps, diarrhea, constipation and bloating. We ate a lot of baked goods as a kid. Every day after breakfast I got bad stomach cramps. My family figured I just didn't want to go to school. If only they had known. About 10 years ago I had a conversation with my GP and he figured I had IBS and should try to get gluten free. I did and wow! What a difference. If I behave, πŸ˜† I feel good and the gut symptoms go away. Not much later, about 3 years, I noticed that there was oil floating in the toilet when I had a bowl movement. Mentioned it to GP and he said you are now Celiac. I am by nature a sugar holic and crave sweets. So you can guess how hard it is for me to eat Gluten free. 😒 I have also developed the buddy intolerance to gluten - dairy. Cheese and yoghurt are ok, just straight Milk not ok.

Long story short, I still have severe symptoms. Gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea , severe cramps, migraines, full body aches and more. Gluten really does put me into bad flares. Hope you all have better luck than I have.

Thank you and God bless!

I'm not gluten intolerant but my dad is and so when I was living with my parents when I moved to NC, I ate what my mom made. She makes very healthy food and uses nothing with gluten in it and I can tell you, I did feel a lot better. I don't think gluten is good for anyone. She also buys some gluten free bread at Costco that's very yummy toasted. :) And they also found that Papa Murphy's Pizza (a take and bake) makes a great gluten free pizza and it's cheap. :) She loads it down with veggies and chicken instead of the traditional Meat and fats. They just ask for less cheese. :) Oh and the white garlic sauce is very very good with the chicken! They don't have one near me, so I'm so sad. :( β™‘β™‘β™‘ You all! :)

I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease about 4 or 5 years ago. This was after being diagnosed with Crohn's Disrase, irritable bowel syndrome, Finally, a new GI Dr. Did a colonoscopy, and said and did blood work to test my antibodies. He diagnosed me with Celiac Disease and told me no gluten, or symptoms would continue. It's amazing how much better I feel. 5 years ago, there was very little gluten free recipes or food. Now, there are Gluten Free Restaurants and some restaurants serve gluten free food - but beware - some say they have gluten free menus but if they cook it with other foods, you can still get sick, I had, in the past, HORRIBLE bouts of Diarrhea
If I ate anything with flour or wheat. I would check with Dr. Before going gluten free, because I read it's not healthy to decide if you are Celiac or gluten free intolerant.
Hope you feel better soon!
