Members overwhelmingly confirmed that fibromyalgia causes intense joint pain in the knees, hips, ankles, and other areas even when medical tests show no visible damage, with many describing the frustration of doctors dismissing pain that feels very real. Several members explained that fibro affects the tendons, muscles, and ligaments surrounding joints rather than the joints themselves, and shared practical strategies including magnesium and calcium supplements, gentle swimming or walking, vitamin D for bone pain, and medications like Tizanidine for muscle relief. A recurring theme was the importance of self-advocacy when doctors seem confused or dismissive, trusting your own body's signals, and finding solidarity in a community that validates the invisible but very real pain of fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia affects the tendons, muscles, and ligaments in your body. I believe that you are feeling the pain from these which is part of your fibromyalgia thinking that it is your actual joints because these tendons, muscles and ligaments are all around the joints to hold them together. Feels like it's in your bones but it actually isn't even though the pain is real bad. My worst spots or my hips, back, neck and knees. Take care my friend.

My hips are my worst enemy :) but of course structurally they are a ok. Some days are better and some pretty aweful. But I am done with unnecessary tests. It is the fibro that racks my every joint. I have embraced this and try to keep positive. Joy helps.

Yes. Definitely. It hurts in your joints mainly but can be hurting elsewhere too. That's what's so unique about Fibro. There are so many different symptoms.

No EdithR it's definitely not in your head. We are all going through pretty much the same. We take each day at a time and try to pace ourselves (which is very hard for me). Just know your not alone in this and you are now a fibro warrior like the rest of us. And we will survive. Gentle hugs to you and prayers to uplift you. 🌟

Yes, if I took the time to name every part of my body that has hurt during to fibro I would probably list every part of my body. There are days I have sworn my hair hurt. Definitely it causes my joints and bones and muscles to hurt. My skin hurts also, to the point most of the time I scared to even be touched. I've also read some things about Lyme disease that maybe you might want to research some more on what other effects that it can have on you afterwards. I have heard many say they've continued to have many symptoms after Lyme disease. Wishing you the very best!
