Members overwhelmingly validated the experience of burning joints described in the post, with many sharing that the pain becomes so intense that even light clothing, blankets, or shoes feel unbearable against the skin. Several members described practical coping strategies such as switching to loose pajamas or sandals year-round, using cortisone cream or cold packs for temporary relief, and accepting that much of it is simply a waiting game until the flare subsides. A recurring theme was the unpredictable and shifting nature of the burning sensation, which can jump between different joints, radiate heat throughout the body, and make everyday activities like working, sleeping, or even getting dressed feel nearly impossible.

I empathize with you! The pain gets so bad even anything touching the areas (blankets.clothing, and even PJs) are excruciating!!!! I get a little relief putting cortisone cream over the area . Mostly it is a waiting game.

Yes but it's not one particular joint that burns, it seems to jump all over! Although I love my electric blanket for pain, I have actually used my cold pack on joints for the burning a few times in the last couple of weeks!

Yes I do. My left leg will start tingling and feeling numb. Then I know what's coming next. Pain and burning. Sometimes it feels like someone is taking a hot log out of a fire and sticking it to my leg. Can't walk for a while!
