Ok ladies and gents in Boston area what hospital is best to go to if you have fibro? Not sure what to do but I may end up in an ER with the pain I've been in something isn't right and I'm afraid something is wrong so if I can't get in sooner than Thursday with my new pain management person I may go to an ER but not sure if there is a better one to go to? To be honest any advice is welcome on my own and scared about it all to be honest.

Members offered practical hospital suggestions for fibromyalgia care in Boston, with Mass General and Brigham and Women's frequently mentioned as excellent teaching hospitals, though concerns emerged about long ER waits and doctors dismissing pain as drug-seeking behavior. Several members shared their own frustrations with medical providers who say fibromyalgia is all in their head, emphasizing the emotional toll of fighting to be believed while managing severe pain and flares. A recurring theme was the difficulty of finding fibromyalgia-friendly doctors who take symptoms seriously, with members encouraging persistence in seeking providers who listen and validate their experiences.

I wish doctors who thought it was, in our heads could walk a day in our shoes. Preferably it be a day with a flare.

Oh girl, I wish I'd known. I found a place that I think will help you and I hope it's close enough. Please view the entire site as well as the doctor who runs it. I'll look for more too.

It is so hard to get meds. They are afraid your drug seeking. In nh there is talk about making vets register there meds to cross check with human meds.

I've been wondering about going to Johns Hopkins partial hospitalization program. I know it's not Boston, but it sounds very good. Did you ever find out if one of the Boston hospitals specializes in Fibro/mental health?
