Members overwhelmingly confirmed that period-related back pain worsens significantly with fibromyalgia, with many describing how existing conditions like sciatica and spinal arthritis become nearly unbearable during menstruation. Several members shared practical relief strategies including heating pads, Thermacare patches for daytime wear, anti-inflammatory medications like Indometacin, and higher doses of ibuprofen when tolerated, though some noted that fibromyalgia has made them newly sensitive to medications they once relied on. A recurring theme was the struggle with heavy periods and hormonal birth control complications, with members discussing failures of IUDs, shifts to mini pills like Cerelle to skip periods altogether, and ongoing searches for gynecological answers including possible endometriosis diagnoses.

I have spondylitis, so I get back pain but it feels worse when I'm on my period.

Yes, I always get the back pain from my periods. I think the Pamprin helps me the most. Also helps with the moodiness. :) Hugs
Also I take 800 mg of ibuprofen, any kind, that's 4 pills of the regular 200mg tablets OTC. Some people can't handle the stomach problems with it, but I've been using it since I was 16 so I'm very used to it. Hope something helps. ♡, Shilo

I agree with everyone lol, midol and pamprin are OTC drugs for period relief. I just take 4 OTC ibuprofin for cramping and backpain. I also use a heating pad. They also make patches (thermacare) that you could wear when you aren't sitting.
