Does anyone's body temp get low? I normally run 97.5 however, sometimes I will get extremely cold out of nowhere, I'll check my temp and it will read 96.0 to 95.5. Wrapping myself in a heated blanket helps to bring it back up, but my feet remain ice cycles. very normal in fibro all our senses are more heightened from extremes of cold to heat our nerves are much more sensitive and the cold wind really goes through us. Wearing lightweight fleece in layers is what I find works as too heavy a coat or jumper puts pressure on our skin which triggers more pain.
A low temp is often associated with hypothyroidism, which is something I suffer from. I don't know if it's common with FM too. Would be good to find out though.
I would mention to the Dr you may be anemic and if you are iron would help. If you have a Rheumatalogist you can ask to be tested for raynauds disease if you think you have the symptoms. It is usually a hereditary problem. Please make sure you check with your Dr. My Daughter is disabled and can not control her body temperature and each person is different.
My room is usually in the 18-21 C range with occasional difference of no more than 2 degrees either way... I have an Age UK (charity) card thermometer which tells me 21 C is the ideal living room temp and 18 C is likewise for a bedroom. As for my body temp, I have no way of telling.
Yet even wearing my comfies (Sherpa pants, t shirt and thick socks) with a thick fleece dressing gown on top I get inexplicably cold... often even while feeling sweaty/greasy which would point towards definitely being warm enough.
Strange... but I guess thems the breaks (and weirdness) with Fibro.
