Members shared a wide range of strategies for managing restless leg syndrome, with several finding relief through medications like Mirapex and Klonopin, while others discovered that addressing underlying issues like low iron, sleep apnea with a CPAP machine, or potassium deficiency from water pills made a significant difference. Many community members described practical home remedies that have helped them, including drinking tonic water for its quinine content, soaking in hot baths, keeping legs cool at night, and trying supplements like Saratame or following a wheat-free and gluten-free diet. A recurring theme was the frustration of sleepless nights and the sense that restless legs often comes alongside fibromyalgia flares, with members encouraging each other to keep trying different approaches and to have iron levels checked as a potential root cause.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I just read back on this post and saw what you said EDS was. I was told by my first pcp when I moved back to Oklahoma that I had Lupus and a collagen disorder. He said he was unsure what type of collagen disorder I had but I had one. Any way, he sent me to a Rheumatologist and she said that I don't have Lupus. Then when I got my new pcp, he told me I didn't have the collagen disorder. UGH,...never ending. I don't know if it was that my pcp was a quack or if the one that I have now is not sure. Sometimes I worry that I have MS or something like that. I do know that I showed my labs to my Ortho doc and he said that it showed borderline Lupus. The first doc that I told you about had me on 2 medications for it. (((gentle hugs)))

For restless leg I take tonic water as it has quinine in it. I'm not sure how bad you are but give it a try it may help. I take mine with cordial as its bitter. It help me and mine were very bad at one stage but I'm controlling it most of the time alone with a wheat and gluten diet try they may help.
