Dreaming happens during REM level, which is light. You don't dream during deep sleep. http://www.sleepdex.org/stages.htm so if you are dreaming a lot, you spend more time in REM.

I have been dreaming a lot lately. Weird dreams that really don't make any sense but I don't get headaches much.

I dream a lot. Almost daily and usually recall my dreams no problem. Some of my dreams actually caused me to have an Angina attack so I can imagine it can start a migraine.
I think if our bodies are stressed and not sleeping soundly or deeply enough for restorative sleep then it will react to any stress during the night. Hope this helps. Just my opinion. Gentle hugs and God bless.
