Pregnancy And Pain Relief
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

What other methods of pain relief have people tried other than medication? I'll be trying to come off my medication to get pregnant again soon n I wanted to see what people could recommend to try for pain relief

I have great relief from the stiffness by doing water aerobics. I do the arthritis foundation's stretches. Call around your area & see if any of the pools are doing them. The arthritis stretches move each joint and since they are in the water they are low impact. Also I use some essential oils. They can be found at local health food stores or on line, the "Now" brand is pretty good. Just a few drops are used in a carrier oil, like olive or coconut. Mint is good on the temples and neck for headaches. Lavender for stress. Add a lil Cloves for a warming property, combined with peppermint on back pain when there is stiffness. Google other uses. Best wishes. Please talk with your OB/Gyn about this. Pain meds can be expressed thru breastfeeding. Fibromyalgia causes a lot of depression on its own, combined with a new baby and it might throw you into a tailspin of the baby blues. Good luck and God's Blessings sent your way.

@A MyFibroTeam Member most doctors don't understand or believe the dangers of stopping Cymbalta (Duloxetine) If he has you go every other day or drop your dose by to much you can have HORRIBLE withdrawals. I know because it happened to me and I followed doctors orders....but they don't know what the hell they are doing. I hope you are one of the ones that can get off that toxic drug without problems. I wish you luck

Tylenol is the safest thing while you are pregnant. Warm water therapy helps. And heating pads

What medication are you on? You have to be very careful coming off some of them, if you don't you can have terrible withdrawals
