Our entire bodies and all of our systems are affected when one thing goes wrong with just one of them. Like the immune system, the endocrine system is thrown off course, as well as the digestive system and the cardio pulmonary system. It's like the all function as one big system. Pull a couple of bricks out of a foundation and what happens,? Your foundation starts to weaken. You can try to patch it up but the fact still remains that its already weakened.

I personally have not had thyroid issues (so far) but I do also have Lupus. Those along with thyroid disease, Hashimotos, OA and RA are kind of connected. If you have one you will most likely have another. Kind of why you really need to research and fight. Did the doc start you on thyroid meds? This is why I am such a big supporter of parents not jumping to have kids tonsils and adenoids taken out, which adenoids are actually shaved and can grow back. Tonsils and adenoids are the first line of defense for the immune system and pretty important. Kind of like a filter for your AC. Here's a site I found about FMS and thyroid issues https://www.verywell.com/the-thyroid-fibromyalg...(Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) It's all very scary but once you become more educated and have a better understanding of your body it won't seem so scary. Gentle hugs!

Also try reading a book called The Medical Medium. It's very interesting and helpful in learning how some foods can actually help (author even says heal) sufferers. I do believe food plays a huge part in keeping us healthy. The sooner the better. My labwork always looks normal, except vit D is low if I am not taking supplement. And I feel it has to do with eating healthy, whole foods and staying away from processed junk. I do still have symtoms and pain just about every day but I think I would be far worse if I didn't eat the way I do.

Ashley this is what we call Autoimmune which are body is attacking itself. I had half my thyroid removed when I was younger as I had a tumour on it and it was the size of a grapefruit. It was a 6 hour operation which left me now with one vocal cord working the other one is paralyzed from the weight of the tumour. I still check my levels as sometimes they change but I take synthroid medication to stabilize it. I hope you get some answers as it's the most important gland in our body.
