Walking (goal 30 minutes a day), swimming/water exercise, gentle aerobics. When I have the energy and wanna mix things up I'll search "just dance exercise" videos on YouTube and dance it out.

Swim. I swim everyday and so far have lost 15 in one month.
Swimming literally takes away the pain while you're in the pool.

Inquire with your doctor to make sure your meds aren't causing weight gain and if so see if there are alternative meds. One thing I'm currently doing is taking physical therapy in the pool. If you are where a lot of us are and land is not an option to do exercise. Get in the pool where you are weightless. It will help in a lot of ways. Slow steps with a good therapist. Hope this helps.
