Members openly shared the profound challenge of battling fatigue, with many describing how they listen to their bodies by taking frequent naps, working through guilt about prioritizing rest, and breaking tasks into smaller pieces spread over days rather than hours. Several members discussed practical strategies including setting countdowns to the weekend for motivation, shopping online to conserve energy, and one member mentioned trying testosterone supplements with modest improvement, while another warned about the severe withdrawal risks of discontinuing Cymbalta without proper support. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of feeling unable to accomplish what once felt effortless, the guilt of putting oneself first, and deep admiration for those who manage to work while fighting both pain and exhaustion.

Maria, you are younger than I am and I don't want to use my age as an excuse, but I really find it nearly impossible to push through the fatigue. I am almost 68, have turned my biz over to my husband and sister to run, and have no responsibilities or obligations to motivate me. I don't think of myself as lazy, but just lucky, I guess, that I don't have to be somewhere, doing something most of the time. I'm envious of those who are able to still work, but I am seriously sympathetic to those who have to while battling pain and fatigue. I listen to my body: if I am doing something and 'hit a wall' I lay down for a while--or sometimes hours--whatever my body requires. If I am not busy but feel okay, I find something to do and try not to overdo it. I am working through many issues with my therapist, the biggest of which is guilt--the false-reality that it is wrong/bad for me to put myself first. The thing is, I have always worked at least one job, or sometimes a job and a lot of volunteer work; so, it's difficult for me to spend so much time taking care of myself. REALITY CHECK: WE MUST! I don't have answers for your question--hope others do. It's so wonderful to have this unlimited resource of understanding, compassionate, co-warriors! Lots hugs to you and them!

I have done 99% of my shopping online because I don't have anyone to go shopping with me and I don't feel like it.

Anymore the fatigue is just ruling my life and making me more depressed. I have to talk myself into things and ramp up or not think about it and just do it. Crowds and stores are hard for me.

I wish there was a magic pill for that. Thankfully I don't work, there is no way I could. The fatigue is horrible, I feel bad this year because it's taking me so long to prepare for the holidays. It took me a day and a half to do my Christmas cards 😳 I do write in most of them along with writing on the backs of all the family pictures I put in each card. I have most of the house decorated but I still haven't changed the bathroom. I usually have that done by Thanksgiving. I just change the shower curtain, towels, and pictures but I haven't had the energy to do it. I stared my Christmas shopping months ago because I know how tiring it can be but I don't have one gift wrapped. I sit on the couch so tired thinking of all the things I need to do...that makes me more tired. I feel for the women with kids and have to work....I don't know how you do it.

@A MyFibroTeam Member be very carful getting off of it, it can be dangerous....but most of all you don't want to go thru the horrible withdraws I did. There is a private Facebook page called " Cymbalta hurts worse" I found it too late😟 They will help you each step of the way and pray you are not one of the people that have a rough time getting off of it. If you are serious about getting off of Cymbalta please join that group.
